How do you ship?
Plants are shipped USPS express unless another method is requested. Our shipping prices are based on the smallest box that the particular plant can fit in. We will stuff that box full of other plants you order until we need a bigger box. When that happens, shipping increases. We try to stick to flat-rate boxes.
Fish are shipped overnight for live arrival guarenteed. Any other shipping method does not qualify for live arrival guarentee. Shipping rates are based on destination. We want your fish to make it to you alive and live a long healthy life in your aquarium!
We reserve the right to delay shipping if the weather conditions are deemed too treacherous
What is your DOA Policy?
Fish shipped overnight are guaranteed live arrival. DOA must be photographed in unopened original packaging within 2 hours of first delivery attempt. In the event of DOA, we will replace (you pay shipping) or give credit (shipping not included) for next purchase.
Plant orders do not generally qualify for live arrival guarentee. Plants damaged during transit are not covered. However, we want your experience with us leaving you satisfied. We want your plants to flourish! If you have a problem, be sure to take a photo of the plant within 2 hours of first delivery attempt and we will do whatever we can to make it right!
Where are you located? Can I pick up my order?
We are based in central Florida. We are located in the north Orlando area of the region. If you're in the area we welcome you to come pick up your order at our facility by appointment only. If you feel uncomfortable visiting, we'll be happy to meet you in a public place in our area (we won't judge).
What are your water parameters?
Plants are grown in dirt, submersed in mildly hard alkaline water. Plants grown on site are grown in low-tech conditions - no ferts and no co2. Plants requiring high-tech conditions are grown off-site and adapted for submersed conditions before leaving the facility.
Fish are bred in specific water parameters based on their natural habitat. Most softwater fish are bred and raised in soft water (0 ppm), but are acclimated to mildly hard, neutral or slightly alkaline water. Hard water fish are born and bred in mildly hard, slightly alkaline water.
How should I acclimate my fish?
I always advise drip acclimation for the fish that I breed. I also recommend doing a pH test on the water the fish was shipped in and compare it to the destination tank pH. Depending on the difference, you will need to determine for how long you will acclimate.
How should I acclimate my plants?
Depending on the weather, you'll most likely want to float the plants in their bags until the temperatures are similar, to avoid shock. I don't ship plants with damaged leaves, but if a leaf becomes damaged during transit, trim it off before you plant it. Depending on the species of plant, you may also determine you'd like to trim the root to stimulate growth. Depending on the conditions of your aquarium, you may experience some melting of your plant as it sheds its leaves that are optimized for my conditions and sprouts new leaves optimized for your conditions.
